Colin Kaepernick Holding Workout At Michigan: Fans React

April 2, 2022 by The Spun

Colin Kaepernick works out for NFL scouts.

Former NFL quarterback Colin Kaepernick is set to hold an exhibition throwing event at halftime of tomorrow’s Michigan spring game in Ann Arbor.

Several draft eligible players will participate in the event and NFL club personnel are permitted to attend, per ESPN NFL insider Field Yates.

The NFL world took to Twitter to react to this news.

Some feel the former San Francisco 49ers quarterback deserves another shot in the league.

“There’s not 32 backup QBs in this league that’s better than OG Kap and folks inside the league circles know it #FreeOGKap,” one fan wrote.

“Still a slap in the face, but I guess this is what he gotta do if he wants to play,” another added.

I’ve seen this one before I ain’t gona get excited until I see it happen https://t.co/t7gf531DO2

Respect to Colin, but I’ll never understand why he keeps fighting so hard to be in the league that blackballed him and he said has a slave mentality. Shit makes no sense to me https://t.co/ySlOzqJBaH

Others aren’t so convinced Kaepernick deserves a job in the NFL. Many fans brought up what happened last time he had a workout scheduled with the league.

“I expect this will go as well as his last staged ‘workout.’ He doesn’t want to play again, he wants to continue playing the victim,” one fan suggested.

“Not set in stone yet. He may change location 30 minutes before the event starts,” another added.

Can’t wait for him to decide at the last second that Michigan is trying to pull one over on him and he decides to change his workout to some other high school stadium. https://t.co/c1bXqi4dVL

Kaepernick, 34, hasn’t played in an NFL game since January 2017. The former player turned social activist made several attempts to land another quarterback job over the past five years, but nothing ever stuck. He’s been posting workout videos and training with some current NFL players this offseason with hopes of landing on a roster for the 2022 season.

It’s unclear what kind of NFL scouting presence will be in attendance at tomorrow’s event.
