The Jacksonville Jaguars ended the Tim Tebow tight end experiment today, officially releasing the former quarterback in the first round of roster cuts.
Tebow always faced an uphill climb to make the team at a new position after several years away from the sport. Some pundits, like FS1’s Colin Cowherd, thought it wasn’t even worth giving the former first-round pick a chance.
This morning, after the Jaguars announced that Tebow had been cut, Cowherd recorded a message for Tebow supporters, who he claims are the ones with the “agenda” and not the people who doubted the 34-year-old athlete.
“The people who are still on the Tebow bandwagon claim the media has an agenda, but the media has been right three straight times,” Cowherd said. “He’s not a franchise quarterback, he hit .220 in minor league baseball, and even Urban Meyer had to get rid of him fast.”

In all honesty, Tebow hitting .223 in the minors after not playing baseball for a decade is pretty impressive. Overall though, we can’t argue with Cowherd’s logic here.
Tebow was a star quarterback in college who had some memorable moments as a pro. However, it’s time for him to move on from actually trying to play sports at this point.
He’s got a bright future ahead of him in broadcasting and should make that his focus going forward.
