Wide receiver Breshad Perriman failed to make the final 53-man roster for the Detroit Lions despite spending the entire preseason with them. But he’s going to have a team for the start of the 2021 season.
According to NFL agent Drew Rosenhaus via ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Perriman is signing a one-year deal with the Chicago Bears. The Bears will be Perriman’s sixth team in the last four years.
Perriman played for the New York Jets in 2020. He finished the season with 30 receptions for 505 yards and three touchdowns in 12 games.
With his deep threat ability, Perriman can be a valuable contributor to almost any offense. But finding stable work has been an obstacle to him ever since his NFL debut.

Breshad Perriman was the No. 26 overall pick by the Baltimore Ravens in the 2015 NFL Draft following a superb career at UCF. He didn’t play as a rookie due to injuries and struggled to make an impact when healthy.
The Ravens released Perriman before the 2018 season, and he promptly signed with Washington, only to be waived a few days later. He latched on with the Cleveland Browns and played well in stretches, averaging over 20 yards per catch in 2018.
The following year, Perriman signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and saw his career really take off. He had a career highs in all categories with 36 receptions for 645 yards and six touchdowns.
Breshad Perriman has another chance to be a big contributor in the NFL. We’ll see if he’s able to stick this time.
