Chase Claypool Tweets Message After Getting Injured At Tuesday’s Practice

Pittsburgh Steelers rising star Chase Claypool had quite the injury scare on Tuesday at practice. Thankfully, he’s doing just fine and confirmed so himself later in the evening.

A report from ESPN’s Adam Schefter revealed that the Steelers breakout wide receiver sustained a “minor ankle sprain” on Tuesday. However, at one point his injury diagnosis was feared to be much more serious.

Immediate indications suggested that Claypool might’ve sustained some more significant damage, but since the moment he left the field, optimism about his status has only increased. He also quelled the fears of loyal Steelers fans by tweeting out a short, but sweet, message on Tuesday evening.

“All is well,” Claypool wrote.

All is well.

Well, there you have it. Claypool himself seems to think he’s just fine which means Steelers fans can breathe a sigh of relief.

The 23-year-old wideout went down to the ground in the closing moments of practice Tuesday and had to be helped off the field by Ben Roethlisberger and Eric Ebron. According to ESPN’s Brooke Pryor, he wasn’t able to put much weight on his on lower body while leaving practice.

“Clarification after video review of the aftermath: Claypool walked off field putting some weight on legs/lower body, still had arms around Ben Roethlisberger and Eric Ebron to get some assistance off the field. Can’t see specific injury, just went down hard after attempting catch,” Pryor reported.

Claypool’s diagnosis might be better than previously thought, but he’ll likely still need some time to recover. The Steelers still have plenty of time to get the second-year wide receiver for the start of the regular season, but may be without him for the next preseason game or two.

Provided everything goes well over the next few weeks, Claypool should be at full strength when Pittsburgh travels to play the Buffalo Bills on Sept. 12.
