So far on Monday night, the North Carolina Tar Heels are getting the better of the Kansas Jayhawks in the national title game.
Kansas jumped out to an early lead, but North Carolina used a 14-0 run in the first half to take a 40-25 lead into the break. With the Tar Heels holding a 15-point advantage, fans are criticizing Charles Barkley for his pre-game prediction.
“Ernie, as much as I love Kenny, it’s the time for the Jayhawks,” Barkley said before the game. “Kansas will win the national championship, guaranteed!”
Jayhawks fans, and those with money on Kansas, aren’t happy with Barkley for guaranteeing a Kansas victory.
“I have been confident in my Kansas title pick since November…until Charles Barkley just guaranteed it,” said one fan.

“This is all Charles Barkley’s fault since he guaranteed Kansas would win during the pregame show,” said The Spun’s Hunter Hodies.

Barkley has a tendency to jinx teams when he picks them to win. Tonight’s scoreline follows that trend, unfortunately for the Tar Heels.
The second half continues on TBS in just a few minutes.
