The decades long feud between former teammates Charles Barkley and Scottie Pippen continues to rage on into 2021.
While the conflict lay dormant for many years, it was reignited earlier this summer when Pippen said, “I ain’t never seen [Barkley] fight a Black man unless there were referees around.”
During an appearance with ESPN 1000 Waddle and Silvy on Wednesday, Barkley responded to a recent jab from the six-time NBA champion who questioned his toughness.
“I don’t walk around saying I’m Billy Badass, but I can promise you one thing — I’m tougher than Scottie Pippen,” Barkley said. “Let me put that to rest right now.”

Through one season as teammates with the Houston Rockets in 1999, Barkley and Pippen didn’t exactly end things on the best of terms.
After an intense verbal confrontation, Barkley threatened that he’d “get arrested for murder” if Pippen didn’t apologize. Pippen responded by saying, “I wouldn’t give Charles Barkley and apology at gunpoint… If anything he owes me an apology for coming to play with his sorry fat butt.”
Barkley was then asked if he would consider settling this long-running beef in a celebrity boxing match. The current NBA analyst said he wasn’t interested, but continued to emphasize his toughness over Pippen.
“I’m not no fake tough guy, I don’t pretend to be a tough guy,” he said. “but I am tougher than Scottie Pippen.”
