Charl Schwartzel put his bid in for shot of the 2022 Masters on Saturday.
On the 10th hole, Par 4, Schwartzel followed up an unbelievable drive with an even better iron shot to gain some ground heading into Sunday. The eagle put the South African golfer into second, putting him within five strokes of leader Scottie Scheffler.

Charl Schwartzel missed eight straight cuts coming into the week. But, look at him now; in striking distance for a second green jacket.
However, while the 136-yard shot was impressive, it’s going to take a bit more to catch the red-hot Scheffler who’s 11-under as it stands.
But a little Augusta National history is always nice:
Per the PGA Tour: Charl Schwartzel holes out for eagle to become the 10th player to card a 2 at the par-4 10th. This is the first year in tournament history that multiple eagles have been recorded at No. 10.”

Schwartzel’s shot is just the latest in what’s been a pretty eventful week at the Masters. We’ll see if he can string together some more excellent play to put a halt on the on the Scottie Scheffler victory parade.
