Deshaun Watson was officially introduced as the newest member of the Cleveland Browns this Friday. As you’d expect, the front office faced a plethora of important questions about Watson’s alleged behavior off the field.
At one point during this Friday’s presser, Browns owner Jimmy Haslam was asked why the team was comfortable pursuing Watson this offseason.
Haslam claims the team was very comfortable with who Deshaun Watson is as a person.
“We got very comfortable with Deshaun Watson, the person,” Haslam told reporters.

When asked what level of tolerance the Browns would have for any potential future incidents, Haslam said: “We expect very high performance levels on and off the field from our players, and Deshaun knows and understands that.”

Jimmy’s wife, Dee Haslam, made similar remarks about Watson and why the Browns pursued him.
“This was really hard,” she said. “This was a journey. I got more comfortable after meeting Deshaun. It took some time. It was a process on behalf of my family and our daughters for sure.”
Watson will continue to face questions about his character for the foreseeable future, especially since he still faces 22 civil lawsuits.
Only time will tell if the Browns made the right decision trading for Watson.
