On Friday afternoon, the Cleveland Browns introduced Deshaun Watson as the newest member of their organization.
During this introductory press conference, Browns general manager Andrew Berry was asked if he spoke with the women who accused Watson of sexual misconduct.
Berry told reporters the Browns were advised by their lawyers against reaching out to the 22 women with lawsuits against Watson because it might be considered interfering with an investigation.
Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski added that Cleveland’s decision-makers put the work in when it came to their background check on Watson.

Watson, meanwhile, denied all wrongdoing during his press conference.
“I understand these allegations are serious,” Watson told reporters. “I never assaulted any woman. I’ve never disrespected any woman. I was raised to be genuine and to respect everyone around me. … I’ve never done the things that these people are alleging.”
As for what Browns fans can expect on the football field, Watson said: “You’re getting a strong leader who loves the work who is going to compete super hard and a guy that is going to push everyone to their full potential so we can win a lot of Super Bowls.”
