After a breakthrough 11-5 season in 2020, the Cleveland Browns stumbled to 8-9 this year. The play of quarterback Baker Mayfield was a major reason for the decline.
Mayfield battled injuries all season and produced the worst statistical output of his four-year career. In addition, the quarterback’s relationship with head coach Kevin Stefanski came into question.
Last week, Mayfield denied a report alleging tension between he and Stefanski. The head coach publicly downplayed any reported issues between the two as well.
It looks like general manager Andrew Berry did the same today during a radio appearance.
“I don’t have any concerns in terms of relationship or anything along those lines,” Berry said, via 92.3 The Fan. “I think it’s pretty natural to have discussions around scheme as you got into the offseason. Those discussions have happened and will continue to happen.”

As of now, the Browns are saying Mayfield will be the team’s quarterback in 2022.
Cleveland already picked up the former No. 1 pick’s fifth-year option for next season, but could look to trade him this offseason if they feel the opportunity is there for an upgrade.
