Broncos QB Coach Davis Webb Withdraws From Consideration For Raiders Head Coach Job

February 1, 2026 by Raiders Nation

Davis Webb, Raiders, Broncos

The Las Vegas Raiders are still in search of their next head coach after firing Pete Carroll after just one season. The franchise has already had a number of interviews, but one of the most intriguing names is Denver Broncos QB coach and passing game coordinator Davis Webb.

Only 31 years old, Webb is one of the hottest young coaches on the market and has already interviewed for multiple different head coaching jobs after the job he has done with Broncos QB Bo Nix. The Raiders being interested made a ton of sense, but ultimately, he won’t be coming to Las Vegas.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Webb has withdrawn his name from consideration for the Raiders’ head coaching position:

This decision has led many to believe that Webb is likely to succeed Joe Lombardi as the Broncos’ offensive coordinator, following Lombardi’s firing after Denver’s loss in the AFC Championship Game. Webb could feel that it would be better for his career to take on that role and explore other future head coaching positions next season.

It is also possible that Webb doesn’t find the Raiders’ job attractive. While the Raiders do have some pieces on offense, they still don’t have their franchise quarterback, which is paramount to success in the NFL. There could also be some trepidation about the Raiders’ franchise overall, as the team has continually cycled through coaches and general managers over the past few seasons, and coaches prefer stability.

Regardless, the Raiders must now move on to other candidates, and they have already interviewed Broncos defensive coordinator Vance Joseph and former Kansas City Chiefs offensive coordinator Matt Nagy. However, the favorite now to land the job is Seattle Seahawks offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak, but that decision can’t be made until after the Super Bowl.

Raiders set to interview Klint Kubiak over the weekend

To that point, the Raiders are expected to interview Klint Kubiak over the weekend, and many believe he will be offered the job unless something goes terribly wrong in the interview. Kubiak led the Seahawks to having one of the best offenses in the NFL, and they are now on their way to the Super Bowl. And at just 38 years old, Kubiak could be the Raiders coach for a very long time.
