It’s not surprising that Flores is going to be a hot commodity. The job he did with the Dolphins the last two years was stellar and it surprised a lot of people when he got the ax on Monday.
Miami was 1-7 through its first eight games this season, and Flores had the team rack off seven wins in a row to get into a playoff position.
The Dolphins were eliminated in Week 17 by losing to the Titans before taking down the Patriots in Week 18. Flores finished the last two seasons 19-14 as the head coach.
For the Bears, they need someone who can oversee the development of Justin Fields. Matt Nagy wasn’t going to be that guy, especially after Fields had more interceptions than touchdowns in his rookie season.
This is a hire that the Bears have to get right.
