The Las Vegas Raiders could make $25 million defensive end Tyree Wilson available for a trade during the NFL Draft. The time is near when all 32 teams in the league are able to improve their rosters by building their future, and the Raiders could be one of the several teams that trade Wilson to a new team. According to several reports, many believe the Raiders will trade Wilson since he’s expendable after extending Malcolm Koonce and Maxx Crosby is coming back on a long-term deal. If Wilson returns, it will only be in a rotational pass rush situation, and that might not fit what he is looking for.
Originally selected in the 2023 NFL Draft, the former Texas Tech product has been one of the major disappointments on the Raiders, so it might be best to trade him now for some viable draft capital as the team is rebuilding again under head coach Pete Carroll. After recording just eight sacks while notching a record-high of 4.5 of them, it’s safe to say he might not have a future in this organization. Even though he’s entering the third year of his rookie contract, the Raiders could trade him either way since he may more than likely receive interest as he won’t cost much. Wilson won’t start in the league anytime soon, but these five teams could roll the dice on him.

Potential Next Teams
New Orleans Saints
Last season, the New Orleans Saints had one of the worst defenses in the league despite signing Chase Young on a one-year deal. They’re keeping him for the long term, but they might have to rely on the defense to make plays since quarterback Derek Carr will be out with an injury. Cameron Jordan is returning, but he’s aging, and there’s a possible chance that the team could trade him this offseason. If that becomes a thing, the Saints should bolster this unit by trading for Wilson to give them a legitimate chance to win ball games.
Carolina Panthers
Meanwhile, the Panthers have done phenomenally well in improving the trenches unit, but they should stop growing. After signing Tershawn Wharton, Derrick Brown, and Jadeveon Clowney finally has help to get after the opposing quarterback. Wilson might not be explosive, but it gives linebacker Josey Jewell more of a chance to make things happen on the field, as he’s been failing to produce results.
Los Angeles Chargers
The Los Angeles Chargers might have one of the worst defenses this upcoming season after a failed free agency. The team lost Poona Ford and a few secondary defenders who were solid. They were only able to bring back Teair Tart and sign journeyman Da’Shawn Hand. It seems like they’re trying to revive more defensive players, but that route could only take them so far.
The Chargers have enough cap space to facilitate a trade, and they should for Wilson.
Baltimore Ravens
Even though the Baltimore Ravens’ offense has been explosive, the defense has yet to bring anything new. The team signing Yannick Ngakoue is an example that they knew they needed the help to improve. Nnamdi Madubuike is still the best middle defender, while Roquan Smith and Kyle Van Noy have been keeping this defense afloat. With Malik Harrison gone, the addition of Wilson might increase the edge rush of the Ravens.
