Update: Mike Trout has been scratched from the Angels’ lineup tonight. He’s currently battling a stomach illness, but will be made available off the bench.
Mike Trout is still feeling sick after a stomach illness last week and is available off the bench, Joe Maddon said.

Former: Mike Trout will not be in the lineup or out in center when the Los Angeles Angels take on the Miami Marlins on Monday night.
Joe Maddon and the Angeles released the team’s lineup card just moments ago. Trout isn’t listed.
The three-time AL MVP is being replaced by Brandon Marsh in center. Jo Adell is taking his spot out in left while Jose Rojas is handling right field. Anthony Rendon, meanwhile, has moved to the two-spot in the batting order behind Shohei Ohtani and first baseman Jared Walsh.
It’s currently unclear why Trout will miss Monday night’s game. But it’s obviously cause for concern.

The good news is it doesn’t sound like Mike Trout is heading to the injured list. At least that’s the initial belief.

Hopefully this is just a scheduled day off. The Angels have previously indicated Trout would get extra rest this season to ensure he doesn’t suffer another injury setback. The team is coming off a four-game series against the Houston Astros.
It’s only four games into the season, but Trout is off to a slow start. He’s batting .231 with three hits in 13 at-bats, one of which went yard.
The Angels, meanwhile, are 1-3 to start the season. They had trouble generating any sort of offense against the Houston pitching staff. Trout isn’t the only Angels star who is off to a slow start. Shohei Ohtani and Anthony Rendon are also in a bit of a slump. But it’s still early.
The Angels will try and win their second game of the season tonight against the Marlins. Trout, as noted, will not be in the lineup.
