Iowa star Keegan Murray will enter the 2022 NBA Draft, he announced on Tuesday afternoon.
After flashing his potential in his first collegiate season in 2020-21, the 6-foot-9 Murray exploded as a sophomore. He averaged 23.5 points and 8.7 rebounds per game for the Hawkeyes this year, earning first-team All-Big Ten and All-American honors.
The son of Iowa legend Kenyon Murray, Keegan was also named MVP of the Big Ten Tournament, as he scored 103 points in four games to lead the fifth-seeded Hawkeyes to their first conference tournament title in 16 years.
“Iowa will always be my home and I’ll forever be grateful to be a part of Hawkeye Nation,” Murray wrote in his draft announcement.

Murray could be selected in the lottery in this year’s NBA Draft. Currently, he’s a finalist for the Wooden, Naismith, and Lute Olson awards, which are presented annually to the top player in men’s college basketball.
Iowa finished the season 26-10 overall. Despite entering the NCAA Tournament red-hot coming off their Big Ten tourney title, the Hawkeyes, seeded fifth in the Midwest, lost to 12th-seeded Richmond in the first round.
Murray finished his college career with 21 points and nine rebounds in a losing effort against the Spiders.
