Even though the Las Vegas Raiders are just 1-2, the team could put running back Raheem Mostert on the trade block. According to a report, the source believes Mostert might end up on a new team through a trade since he has yet to see the field, and this is true given that rookie Ashton Jeanty is the future of this backfield unit. It’s not like Mostert is getting backup reps, as he’s buried all the way down the depth chart behind Zamir White and Dylan Laube. It’s safe for the Raiders to trade him to gain some draft capital, and while it won’t be much due to his value, it wouldn’t be the worst thing for the Las Vegas ground game.
They wouldn’t need him since the Raiders have a ton of running backs already, and Mostert should have a market for teams that are looking for depth. Originally selected as an undrafted rookie in 2015, the former Purdue product had his best days with the San Francisco 49ers are being a journeyman for the first few years of his NFL career. Mostert is no longer the same Pro Bowler that he was with the Miami Dolphins. He made a huge case after suffering through multiple injuries and could get one more solid for the next team that acquires him.

Potential Destinations
Dallas Cowboys
Why not? The Dallas Cowboys are still experimenting with their run game, and it’s still anyone’s starting job up for grabs despite Javonte Williams showing signs he might be the permanent No. 1 backfield piece. Veteran Miles Sanders is still looking like a former shell of himself, and even though he had a few flashes, he is no longer the same running back he once was. 2025 draft pick Jaydon Blue has yet to get any reps on the field, so nobody knows what might happen here.
Mostert won’t be the most exciting trade for Dallas, but it adds some burst in the running unit that could give Sanders an edge in situational moments. He isn’t going to light up the field like he used to, but it gives Dak Prescott another body to hand off the ball to and see if he can move the chains.
Kansas City Chiefs
Meanwhile, the Kansas City Chiefs should be on the hunt for a capable veteran who could help Isiah Pacheco. Yes, they have Kareem Hunt for that role, but since he’s slowing down, it’s always better to get more help in that running back room. Rookie Brashard Smith or Elijah Mitchell probably won’t get all of the touches if they trade for Mostert, but it could give Pacheco some durability in the background.
New Orleans Saints
However, the New Orleans Saints are 0-3 and could use any RB help at this stage in Spencer Rattler’s career. Alvin Kamara is one of the league’s better running backs, but he’s aging and might need a lighter workload in the next few years. Mostert isn’t the permanent solution to this Saints run game, but it buys Kendre Miller some time to develop once again.
