Chris Rock will not be pressing charges against Will Smith for Sunday night’s incident at The Oscars, according to the Los Angeles police department.
Smith hit Rock on stage at The Oscars on Sunday night. Rock reportedly made a joke about Smith’s wife, Jada Pinkett, being bald.
The Best Actor winner then yelled at Rock, telling him to keep his wife’s name “out of your f–king mouth.”

Rock will not be pressing charges against Smith for the incident.

The Los Angeles Police Department released a full statement.
“LAPD investigative entities are aware of an incident between two individuals during the Academy Awards program. The incident involved one individual slapping another. The individual involved has declined to file a police report. If the involved party desires a police report at a later date, LAPD will be available to complete an investigative report,” the statement reads.
Smith won the Best Actor Oscar for his portrayal of Richard Williams, the father of Venus and Serena Williams, in the movie King Richard.
