Sorry, Wisconsin fans. Brad Davison has not been granted a sixth year of eligibility and won’t play for the Badgers this upcoming season.
Wisconsin basketball may have won April Fools’ Day with a sneaky-good Brad Davison announcement.
“Wisconsin men’s basketball guard Brad Davison has been granted a sixth year of eligibility from the NCAA and will return to Wisconsin for the 2022-23 season,” the Badgers announced. “Davison was awarded a medical hardship for his 2017-18 season that was marred by a reoccurring shoulder injury.”
Unfortunately it’s not true. Davison posted a response video in which he explained it was an April Fools’ joke.
“What’s up, Badger family? Brad Davison here,” he said. “It’s been an absolute honor and privilege to represent the University of Wisconsin and wear the jersey for the last five years.
“… With that being said, April Fools. I will not be returning for a sixth year. I wish I could come back and try to win another Big Ten title.”
All love Badger Family ❤️🙌🏼
Thankful for the last 5 years! The Best is yet to come 👐🏼 https://t.co/FYH5jtWutm pic.twitter.com/QoWMZEYFXl

Wisconsin basketball really went all out to try and make this April Fools’ joke seem real.
Brad Davison even provided an official quote.
“I’ve said all along that it’s been my dream to be a college basketball player and compete at the University of Wisconsin and I’m grateful for the opportunity to have one more season in the red and white,” Davison said. “I also want to thank Coach Gard for welcoming me back again and again and again and can’t wait to get start a new chapter with my teammates and staff.”
