There might not have been a more disappointing team in the NFL last season than the Chicago Bears. After surprising everyone with an 12-4 record during the 2018 season, the Bears only won eight games in 2019.
Earlier this week, LaDainian Tomlinson tried to analyze the biggest issue for Chicago. He believes it comes down to the receiving corps, saying “Allen Robinson needs to be more consistent. Anthony Miller and other guys need to step up.”
Other wideouts certainly need to step up, but there is just no way Allen Robinson is responsible for the team’s shortcomings last season. In fact, Robinson had the second-best season of his career, totaling 98 receptions for 1,147 yards and seven touchdowns.
Robinson had to let Tomlinson know that he didn’t agree with his analysis, responding back with “Must be a slow week.”

The main reason the Bears didn’t replicate their success from the 2018 season is because Mitch Trubisky didn’t perform nearly as well as he did in his first year under Matt Nagy.
Trubisky saw his passing yards and touchdowns drop in 2019. His passer rating also dipped by more than 12 points.
Chicago isn’t ready to abandon the Trubisky experiment just yet, but the front office did acquire Nick Foles this offseason. If Trubisky can’t get the ball rolling, the offense will be led by the MVP of Super Bowl LII.
Regardless of who’s at quarterback though, Bears fans can expect another strong year from Robinson.
