Anthony Davis isn’t concerned with trade rumors surrounding him this coming offseason.
Tensions are high in Los Angeles as the Lakers missed the playoffs (and even the play-in tournament) after many expected them to be a contender this season.
The Lakers were in control of their own destiny throughout the season but collapsed down the stretch as the games got more meaningful.
Davis doesn’t pay attention to the trade rumors and wants to stay in L.A.
“I can’t control those things,” Davis said to ESPN. “That’s an upstairs thing. A Klutch, Rich Paul thing. My agency.”
“I mean, my job is to go out and play basketball. Obviously, I love it in L.A. If that’s something that they’re considering, then we’ll have a conversation about it. I don’t know what they’re talking about, what’s the plan.”
Davis had another good year–when he was on the court. The star big man was banged up and only played in 40 games. When he played, Davis averaged 23 points per game and close to 10 rebounds per game while shooting 53% from the field.
It’s going to be a fascinating offseason for the Lakers as they try and figure out how to move forward.
