Wide receivers Cole Beasley and Gabriel Davis were not the only Buffalo Bills players sent home from the team facility today due to close contact with an employee who tested positive for COVID-19.
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, defensive tackle Star Lotulelei was also sent home and will have to isolate for five days. Like Beasley and Davis, Lotulelei tested negative for COVID.
However, because he is also unvaccinated, he will have to stay away from the team this week.
More details: The Bills’ trainer who tested positive was fully vaccinated. Beasley was in close contact with him yesterday and tested negative for covid today, as did Gabe Davis and Star Lotulelei, who all were all sent home and all tested negative. https://t.co/APlxWWumsg

Lotulelei has been with the Bills organization since 2018. He started all 32 regular season games for the team in 2018 and 2019 before sitting out last season due to the pandemic.
Davis had a strong rookie season for Buffalo in 2020, teaming with Beasley to give Josh Allen capable receiving options outside of top target Stefon Diggs. Beasley, who has been with the Bills since 2019, has been outspoken this summer about his opposition to vaccine mandates from the NFL.
The players association is a joke. Call it something different. It’s not for the players. Everyone gives me the 98 percent of people who are vaccinated don’t get covid again. The odds of me getting in the NFL and playing for 10 years are lower than that and I’m here.

The Bills will close out preseason play against the Green Bay Packers this Saturday before opening up the 2021 season against the Pittsburgh Steelers on September 12.
