This will be the final ride for Albert Pujols and his MLB career.
Pujols signed with the team that he’s had the most success with throughout his career on Sunday: The St. Louis Cardinals.
On Monday, he confirmed to the media that after this season, he’ll be retiring from baseball.

Pujols originally played with the Cardinals from 2001-2011. Starting in 2012, he played with the Los Angeles Angels for the next 10 seasons before spending the second half of last season with the Los Angeles Dodgers.
During his time with the Cardinals, he hit 30+ home runs in each season, plus batted at least .300 every season except one.
He’s joining a Cardinals team that’s ready to contend again this season. They’ve made the playoffs three years in a row, but have lost in the National League Wild Card round in the last two.
Pujols will also be looking to move up at least one more spot on the all-time home runs list. He’s currently fifth in MLB history with 679 homers and needs just 18 more to pass Alex Rodriguez.
He’d also be the fourth player in MLB history to reach 700 home runs if he hits 21 of them this season.
