There’s something in the water down in Highland Park, Texas. Scottie Scheffler holds a five-stroke lead and is just three holes away from a green jacket.
And if Scheffler’s able to hold on, he may just crack the top three when it comes to his high school’s athletic alumni.
As it turns out, the 25-year-old went to the same Highland Park High School that produced Dodgers ace Clayton Kershaw and Rams/Lions star QB Matthew Stafford.
“Who had a Clayton Kershaw and Matthew Stafford mention on THEIR MASTERS BINGO?!” asked WXYZ Detroit’s Brad Galli.

Kershaw’s resume speaks for itself. An MVP award, three Cy Youngs, five ERA titles, eight All-Star teams and a 2020 World Series ring; and more. At his peak, Kershaw was unhittable.
Meanwhile, Matthew Stafford was a first overall pick and has been among the most talented quarterbacks in the NFL for some time now. He received his crowning achievement this past year, leading the Rams to the Super Bowl after 12 long years in Detroit.
Fun fact: the two grew up playing sports together.
Now Scottie Scheffler is looking create his own legacy as a Highland Park alum.
Scheffler’s played Augusta about as well as you can from the onset. And barring something catastrophic, his name will be etched in Masters lure.
