The New Orleans Saints organization has been reported as one of the key players in the Deshaun Watson sweepstakes.
And it’s not just the team’s front office that’s expressed interest in the 26-year-old quarterback. Multiple Saints players have also reportedly jumped in on the recruiting efforts.
Several New Orleans players are “actively recruiting” Watson and “would love” to play alongside him next season, per NFL insider Aaron Wilson.
Free-agent offensive tackle Terron Armstead is reportedly delaying his decision to see if the Saints are able to land the three-time Pro-Bowl QB in a trade.

As of right now, the Saints are notably thin at the quarterback position. With projected starter Jameis Winston coming off a torn ACL injury suffered midway through the 2021 season, the New Orleans quarterback room consists of him, Taysom Hill, Trevor Siemian and Ian Book.
Watson, who was cleared of all criminal charges on Friday, reportedly met with Saints officials on Monday (in addition to a meeting with the Carolina Panthers). He still faces multiple civil cases of alleged sexual assault and misconduct.
What do you think of a possible Watson-Saints partnership in New Orleans?
