LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — The public heard from the new Vegas Golden Knights coach Bruce Cassidy for the first time Thursday at a news conference featuring Cassidy and VGK Manager Kelly McCrimmon.
It was announced earlier this week that the former Boston Bruins coach would be the team’s new coach. McCrimmon said that Cassidy “embodies so many of the traits [the Vegas Golden Knights] were looking for.
“In general, I’ve done a good job with certain areas that are valuable to the National Hockey League,” said Cassidy on why he’s the right fit for the job.
Cassidy told the conference that he’s been going through the process of meeting and getting to know the players in order to put together a roster that is going to work for the team.
As far as expectations, Cassidy detailed a plan to make the VGK a team that’s hard to play against. He has planned to create a game-play that’s attack oriented and puts other teams on their heels.
