St. Louis Blues’ Forward Questionable For Saturday’s Game

October 11, 2025 by Last Word On Hockey

The St. Louis Blues may have a different lineup for their game on Saturday. Forward Alexey Toropchenko is dealing with upper-and-lower body injuries. As a result, he is questionable for Saturday’s game.

It is unclear which play or plays caused Toropchenko’s injury. However, it is possible it is a continuation of soreness that caused him to miss a practice earlier in October. The soreness, however, did not cause Toropchenko to miss any games.

Toropchenko did not practice with the Blues on Friday. The Blues play the Calgary Flames on Saturday. Furthermore, the game is scheduled for the afternoon instead of the evening, so there is less time for Toropchenko to overcome his injury.

Lineup Replacement

Should Toropchenko miss the game, Alexandre Texier will enter the lineup for the first time this season. The Blues practiced Friday with Texier on a line with Pius Suter and Jake Neighbours. The fourth line, which normally includes Toropchenko, saw Mathieu Joseph playing with Nick Bjugstad and Nathan Walker.

Unusual Absence

If Toropchenko does miss Saturday’s game, it will be one of the rare times he misses a game. Last season, Toropchenko played in 80 of the Blues’ 82 regular-season games and played in all seven playoff games. The season before, Toropchenko played in all 82 games.

Needless to say, Toropchenko has been a consistent in the Blues’ lineup. The Blues’ fourth line has been reliable overall, with Toropchenko playing a key role in that. Furthermore, Toropchenko has been one of the Blues’ most consistent players since making his NHL debut in 2021-22. Two seasons ago, Toropchenko scored a career-high 14 goals, a total he is looking to build upon this season.

Upcoming Schedule

If Toropchenko can not play on Saturday, his next opportunity to play will be Monday night against the Vancouver Canucks.
