Roster Breakdown
The team’s preliminary roster is comprised of three goaltenders, nine defencemen, and 15 forwards. Moreover, 17 of the selected players are currently competing in the CHL, seven are playing college hockey in the NCAA, and the remaining three are playing in the NHL this year.
The roster is highlighted by ‘26 Draft Eligible forward, Gavin McKenna of Penn State. In addition, it features highly-touted prospects with some NHL experience already such as Michael Misa, Zayne Parekh, Harrison Brunicke, and Jet Luchanko. Also, six players selected return from last year’s team, including starting goaltender, Carter George.
Training camp for Team Canada begins this Friday, December 12th in Niagara Falls, Ontario. Moreover, they will have to trim the current list down to 25 players before heading to Minnesota at the end of the month. Therefore, two players are still to be cut ahead of the tournament.
Finally, Team Canada will open their tournament on December 26th as they take on Czechia. They will be looking to improve on previous results at the World Juniors, where they have been eliminated in the quarterfinal round in the previous two years. In addition, this will be a great international hockey tournament for fans. This will work as a perfect pre-game to the 2026 Winter Olympics.
