LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — The University of Nevada, Las Vegas Rebels are returning home to face off against the University of California, Los Angeles Bruins at Allegiant Stadium Saturday.
The Rebels beat the Sam Houston State Bearkats 38-21 Friday in the first game between the schools. It was the first of two matchups against first-time opponents this season, with UNLV going up against the Miami RedHawks on Sept. 20.
The Saturday, Sept. 3, game at Allegiant Stadium will only be the third time UNLV and UCLA meet on the football field, with the Bruins having won both ends of a home-and-home series a decade ago, UNLV Athletics said.

Weather Forecast For UNLV Game Day
Saturday is going to be a warm day in Las Vegas, but with the game indoors, fans should have a great experience.
The high temperature for Saturday is 96 degrees, which is a little below normal for the seasonal average.
Whether you’re tailgating at the game, walking to the stadium or spending time on the Strip, you’ll want to stay hydrated and be careful of surfaces that could be hot to the touch.
What to watch for: UNLV vs. UCLA
Quarterbacks: Anthony Colandrea is clearly the #1 QB for the Rebels. He is coming off a week where he completed 83% of his passes and was named Mountain West Conference Offensive Player of the Week. Watch how he does with the upgrade in competition against the UCLA Bruins.
Watch the run: Jai’den “Jet” Thomas continues to excel at running back. Can the Rebels continue their solid rushing game against a Big10 opponent?
Fan turnout: Turnout should be interesting. This is the most well-known opponent to visit Allegiant Stadium this season, so there should be a big crowd. UNLV is opening the 300 section in the stadium to accommodate more fans, and school is now in session, so that may add to the number of students showing up to the game.
