Promising Canadian guard lands UNLV offer

As one of the top, traditional point guards out of Canada, Class of 2028 Kenyon St. Louis is flushed into a prominent role at Winston Salem Christian (NC) this upcoming season.

A calming influence with the ball and budding three level scorer, St. Louis added an offer from UNLV on Wednesday.

He’s garnered additional offers from the likes of Arizona State, Florida State, High Point, and others.

Possessing a smooth, balanced offensive repertoire which includes a nifty floaters and pull-up jumper, St. Louis averaged 11 points in helping Canada attain silver at the FIBA U-16 AmericaCup.

“He has a great feel for this game at such a young age,” said Winston Salem Christian head coach Antonio Lowe of St. Louis.

“He is able to make all of the reads that a point guard needs to be able to make. He plays the game at a great pace and doesn’t allow the defense to speed him up. The next stage in his development is getting strong and being able to take the bumps from guys that will try to he physical with him.”

Lowe said St. Louis will play an immense role as a sophomore, instrumental in leading the national team from the very beginning.

A barrage of Division-I coaches have come in daily to see the fleet of talent now at Winston Salem Christian. The program features a versatile 6-foot-9 wing/forward in Nick Maclean and an all around impactful 6-foot-6 wing in Bradley Floyd, both of the 2026 class.

“We have had coaches in every day since (the live period began) from low major to high major and they all are getting a chance to see Kenyon,” Lowe explained.

“He’s gonna start at point guard for us. He has the keys to the car. The road will get a little bumpy because he’s young, but I have enough talent and older guys around him to be special.”

…

Coming off a significant summer during which his game levitated against elite competition Class of 2026 combo guard Payton Waites is tracking as a player to keep close tabs on throughout the prep/post grad circuit this coming season.

A knockdown shooter with an adeptness for carving out space off the dribble, Waites averaged 12.7 PPG while playing for Ae5 and on the 3SSB circuit.

At 6-foot-4 and a floor spacer, Waites is flushed into a prominent role for Prestige Worldwide Acad (FL). Buoyed by a game predicated on shiftiness and a gunslinger’s mentality in being able to pull shots from all over the court, the Atlanta native has been hearing from the likes of Florida Atlantic, Grand Canyon, and UNC-Greensboro.

He will inherit a focal point role at Prestige this season, capable of play-making as a primary ball handler and an off the ball presence. Helping propel Waites’ day to day development has been Corey Frazier, the head trainer at Atlanta-based OTE. Waites father, Gary Waites, played four years at Alabama alongside Robert Horry and Latrell Spreewell. Waites was known for his defensive prowess as a 6-foot-2 guard.
